The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Resiliency Extends Online Virtual Programs and Hosts Virtual “Doc Talk”
The Women’s Fund for Health Education and Resiliency, a nonprofit providing Houston-area women and girls with the tools needed to be advocates for their health, is extending its series of online programs and is taking its regularly scheduled Doc Talk presentation online on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Noon. To ensure positive outcomes for women and girls during these challenging times of COVID-19 and social distancing, The Women’s Fund will continue to offer presentations at no cost on relevant topics to personal physical, mental, financial, emotional, health and wellness. Each session will last 35 to 40 minutes via Zoom and will be posted afterwards on The Women’s Fund website (www.thewomensfund.org) and Facebook Page (Facebook). The Women’s Fund Online Presentations will be available via Zoom and include: April 22 at 2 p.m. – Physical Activity April 23 at 1 p.m. – How to Make the Most of Your Telehealth Visit Presented by Dr. Frene Lacour-Chestnut April 29 at 2p.m. – Goal Setting and Decision Making May 6 at 2 p.m. – Communication May 13 at 2 p.m. – Healthy Relationships May 20 at 2 p.m. – Sleep Hygiene May 27 at 2 p.m. – Anxiety and Other Mood Disorders June 3 at 2 p.m. – Self Care June 10 at 2 p.m. – Germs The Women’s Fund Doc Talk, a now virtual series of conversations with medical professionals on cutting edge and trending health topics, is offered at no cost and is in partnership with The Health Museum. On April 30, 2020, Casey Curry will moderate the Zoom video conversation on “The Dangers Behind Vaping” with Lindy McGee, MD and Bianca Smith, LMSW. For 41 years, The Women’s Fund has educated girls and women in the Houston-area through classes, workshops, lectures and publications that teach resiliency skills and relate those skills to current health risks.
